Survey Settings

This is how you get the survey function to your project:

  • on the Project Setup page, click 'Enable' next to 'Use Surveys in this project?'. The text 'Use surveys in this project?' turns green to indicate that the survey feature is enabled. If needed, you can disable the feature by clicking 'Disable' in the same place.

  • Click Enable Online Designer. Now opens a page where you edit the survey settings. If you don't save the survey settings the survey function is not enabled.  You know the survey is enabled, when you no longer see the word enable in online desinger but a green icon.
  • NB! Enable is not visible, if you haven't enabled the Survey on the Project Setup page.

Distributing the survey with a public link

When you have enabled surveys in your project, the Survey Distribution Tools appears in the Data Collection. There you can copy the public survey URL.

With the public survey URL you can collect anonymous survey data, provided that you don't ask for personal data.  With this form you can test whether you have personal data in your project. Remember that in open fields respondents can write personal information where a person is identifiable.

Distributing the survey to specific recipients

In order to be able to send your survey to specific emails, you first have for the email information in your basic information survey. In the email field, use validation: email.

Choose: Enable optional modules and customizations => Designate an email field for communications (including survey invitations and alerts):

Now all the responses to the validated email field are visible in Survey Distribution Tools => Participant list.  You can send surveys to these specific emails. Responses will be linked to the respondents redcord IDs.

Ending the survey

When you are ready to move your project to analysis stage and you no longer want responses to your survey, you can move it offline in survey settings.

You can add to message to the respondents, who have clicked the survey link after it has been moved offline.  In your message you could have a link that directs the respondents to the page where you have more information about your research project.
