Targeted at students and scholars of art history, it is an invaluable reference, research, and teaching tool. Authored by the Met’s experts—predominantly made up of curators but also of conservators, scientists, and educators—the Timeline comprises 300 timelines, 930 essays, close to 7,000 objects, and a robust index, and is regularly updated and enriched to provide new scholarship and insights on the collection.

As an international registry for the built environment, the establishment of and continued growth of BWR is a step toward the creation of a fully integrated and inclusive built works authority file, which at this time does not exist. In the services of this longer-term goal, BWR will serve as one of the core contributors to the Getty Research Institute's Cultural Objects Name Authority (CONA). Over time, CONA will contain authority records for cultural works, including architecture and the built environment.

Focusing on the paintings executed by the Venetian Renaissance artist, Titian (ca. 1488-1576), this site offers a searchable provenance index of his attributed pictures and allows users to create customizable collections of paintings and customizable maps that show the movement of the pictures over time and space with the application of various filters. The collections and maps can be shared with other users or can remain private. The site also includes a glossary with short biographies of patrons and collectors of Titian’s pictures and references with a selected bibliography of relevant scholarship. The main goal of Mapping Titian is to create a tool from which new research, discoveries, and experiences can be inspired, guided, and shared. The site user is conceived of as a site thinker.

Ribapix covers world architecture of all periods together with related subjects such as interior design, landscape, topography, planning, construction and the decorative arts. Many of the images are also of social documentary importance. You can use the Quick search box above to do simple free-text searches. You may also simply browse the entire collection. For more structured searching by categories such as architect and building you should use advanced search or subject search.

The Digital Collection currently contains only a fraction of the records of the works of art belonging to the museum´s collections. If the record you were looking for could not be found, please contact us (digipank@ekm.ee).

This data base will enlarge until it holds the complete collection. The advanced search engine facilitates consultation, using categories such as artist, title of work, subject, chronology and reference number.

Because the collections have been indexed in Finnish, also the search engine and the web service are in Finnish.

You can also access nearly 2,500 artworks by Joseph Mallord William Turner from other collections. Together with Tate's own holdings, these form the most comprehensive online catalogue of Turner's work.
