Reading and downloading an e-book

  • In Helka click the word "Online resource". 
  • You can start reading by clicking a chapter. You can read html chapters or PDF chapters. When reading PDF - you'll need and Adobe Reader.
  • When signed in, you can create virtual bookshelf (My Work). Signing in is a free of charge, please note that Helsinki University user ID is not cerviceable to Oxford Scholarship.
  • You can read and print chapters in html and PDF. You can't read or print the whole book at a time.
  • You can send references to Refworks etc.

Reading an online-version (PC)

  • In Helka click the word "Online resource".  
  • You can start reading by clicking a chapter. You can read html chapters or PDF chapters. When reading PDF - you'll need and Adobe Reader.
  • When signed in, you can create virtual bookshelf (My Work). Signing in is a free of charge, please note that Helsinki University user ID is not serviceable to Oxford Scholarship.

Online reading

  • Online-reading doesn't require any program installations.
  • You can also read the book in PDF-mode - you'll need an Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is free of charge.
  • There is unlimited multi-user access to the books.
  • Online reading requires a network connection.
