European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) case law

The European Court of Human Rights was set up in 1959. It hears individual or State allegations on violations of the civil and political rights set out in the European Convention on Human Rights. Iindividuals can apply directly to the Court. Cases can be found from the HUDOC database. Printed collection is on the K3 floor of the Library.

EU Member States' case law

Member State administrative case law which deal with the application of EU law - "JuriFast" and "Dec.Nat".

Decisions are in the original language, a summary in English and French. The "Dec.Nat" database also contains references and analyses of national decisions which have been supplied by the Research and Documentation Service of the European Court of Justice.

Network of the Presidents of the supreme judicial courts of the EU include national databases (and also of some candidate countries) containing the case law of the Member States' supreme courts.
